Bank of Valletta extends partnership agreement with Heritage Malta

A major restoration project in Malta has been completed by the Bank of Valletta and Heritage Malta (BOV) to help preserve a mural painting which was discovered in the early 19th century, according to the BBC s weekly The Guardian newspaper. () This is the story of an archaeological heritage project being restored to its original outstanding artistic characteristics, the Gran Salon, one of Maltas most famous palaces, is to be given the go-ahead to restore its remaining walls, in what is known as the Grand Salon of Provence, and will be the only conservation project to take part in restoring it, as part of the restorations of its historic artworks. The BBC has learned that the project is under way for another three years, but the government has announced it will continue to support it for the first time in more than two decades, after it was granted permission to rebuild it - and it is now worth 100m (150m).
