Gender inclusivity still a distant dream in India Inc boardrooms

India Inc. has been fined more than a third of its boardrooms for not appointing women directors, according to new figures from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (CMIM). However, the number of companies in the country has reached its lowest level since the 2013 Companies Act was introduced in April 2018 and December 2023. Why is it so?
