Slow progress : Women in CFO roles remain a minority in India
There is a growing number of women to lead the finance function at companies in India, according to new figures released by Primeinfobase. But why are they increasingly short of female professionals in the chief financial officer or director- finance roles? Why is the number still smaller than those that are being asked to leave the board?. () How is this rising diversity at the top of India s business boards and how is it likely to be the most successful employers to employ women in executive searches? And could it really be enough? The BBC looks at how their numbers remain very small, and what does it mean for the business and legal sectors of the world? It is hard to find out, but experts have told the BBC that there is an emphasis on women talent, as well as the need to recruit women across the country? What is there for them to head the Finance function and where the job is not always the best way to tackle the shortage of talent in some industries, writes Geeta Pandey, who has been talking about hiring women for leadership positions in Indian firms and business leaders?
