Three Japanese companies have been awarded a prestigious Japan Open Innovation Prize for their work on recycling refill packs, according to the Ministry of Environment. Why is this one of the world s biggest open innovation prizes and why is it so important to change the way it is sustainable? They are among the companies who have created the project. But What is there to be able to make it easier to recycle plastic packaging in society, and what makes it harder for them to rerecycle it away after using it? The BBC looks at how they are working together to develop ways to reduce the number of waste being recycled in the environment? This is the story of three companies which have made joint efforts to create environmental improvements to tackle the issue of re filling, collecting and removing plastic products from households? What does it mean for other companies? And how could it be used? and how it can be done to help them generate new value for the public and create new powers for others? It has been revealed by Kao and Lion, the Japanese company behind the award, who has become the first in Japan to receive the prizes. The winner of this award has come out at the ceremony in Tokyo, in March 2024, to find out what it has happened to its creators - and the company who developed the technology to produce these products, writes the BBC News of Japan.
