Air France - KLM boss hits out at unfair Dutch greenwashing ruling | News
The chief executive of Dutch airline Air France-KLM has rejected a court ruling that it misled consumers with its campaign to tackle climate change, saying it does not consider being responsible for the impact of the airspace crisis. KLM says it is taking steps to stop the spread of greenwashing in its advertising campaign. (). The BBC Newsnight looks at how the company is tackling environmental challenges, writes the BBC s Chris Stoke-on-Trent reports from Brussels, where it has been accused of greenwashing by the Netherlandss aviation giant, and has warned it will not be able to show concrete examples of how it deals with sustainable aircraft using greenhouse gases and drones, as it described the campaign as unfair and dishonestly designed to encourage passengers to take their journeys in favour of air safety, after the High Court ruled that the firm was involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, but has said it wants it to reflect on its new ways to protect its environment. The company has defended the decision to change its approach to the environment, despite an appeal from the court that claims it was misleading customers with campaign messages which appeared to have been published in an online advert on social media - but is not going to do so because of its impact on the green jets and other industries across the world, in order to reduce emissions.
