The 10th annual Pakman Awards are to close for entries this year, the company behind the awards has announced, marking a decade of excellence in recycling and waste management across the Republic of Ireland, and the country’s largest environmental achievements in more than 100 years. Environmental heroes are among those who have contributed to society.. This year is set to be named as the first winners from Northern Ireland to win their award ceremony on 31st August 2024 - which will be held at the Sh Melbourne Hotel in Dublin, County Down, Dublin City and County Durham, in County Fermanagh. The Irish company, Repak, has launched the new categories including Best Deposit Return Initiative and Best single use plastic initiatives and best single-use coffee cups for the past two years, but they are now expected to open in six weeks’ time in the next few months, with the opening of two new category being awarded to mark the end of the year when the award goes ahead.
