Saudi Awwal Bank becomes first bank in Saudi Arabia to receive Local Content Certificate
One of Saudi Arabia s biggest banks has been awarded a local content certificate for its efforts to improve local development and sustainable growth in the financial sector, according to the country’s chief operating officer, Ghada AlJarbou, the head of the bank has told BBC News Arabic on Monday, 17 October, to announce the award. The announcement has come into effect on Tuesday, 19 January, as it becomes the world first bank to achieve this honour, after being named as Saudi Awwal Bank (Sab) - and is the only country where they have been granted the same award as those who claimed it was among the most successful winners of this year, writes BBC Monitoring reports from the UK and Saudi government agency.
