House panel to vote on resolutions targeting EPA rules
The House Energy and Commerce Committee plans to review legislation on Wednesday that aims to address some of the Environmental Protection Agency s (EPA) most ambitious environmental regulations. The committee s actions are part of a series of initiatives by House Republicans to challenge the Biden administration s environmental policies. Additionally, the committee will consider legislation that would require AM radios to be installed in new cars. Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) emphasized that the committee s work is focused on delivering solutions to improve the lives of American people. The upcoming markup will include Congressional Review Act resolutions, which, if passed, would nullify administration rules and prevent similar regulations from being established in the future. The legislation under consideration is seen as a response to what Republicans perceive as harmful regulations that threaten America s economic and energy security. The committee s actions come amidst recent floor votes on bills against environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing, further highlighting the ongoing debate over the direction of the country s environmental policies.
