Shanghai Fashion Week (SHFW) announced its 2024 schedule, kicking off on October 9 and closing on October 19. The event will feature a diverse range of designers, brands, and sustainability initiatives. Highlights include the opening runway show by local brand Comme Moi, led by Chinese supermodel Lu Yan. Designer Angel Chen, who has been absent from the fashion scene for years, will return in collaboration with beverage brand Chagee. Puffer couturier Chen Peng will debut an exclusive G-Class art project with Mercedes-Benz. Menswear brands Staffonly, Short Sentence, and Xiao Li are also expected to make an impact. The main stage will showcase designers such as Ya Yi, Hanqing Din, and J E Cai. Labelhood will present 16 homegrown names across runways, presentations, exhibitions, and lifestyle pop-ups, with new brands like Joyce Bao, Ili Node, Rè Shuǐ, and Hengdi Wang joining the roster. Global presence is represented by Moncler s immersive Moncler Genius event and Vivienne Westwood. H&M will launch a temporary store during the Shanghai Fashion Weekend, marking the first offline sales of their collaborative series with SHFW and local label Garçon By Garçon. Harrods will host its fifth edition of The Harrods Hive, featuring talks, exhibitions, and mentorship sessions for emerging talent. Sir Paul Smith will open a flagship store at The Bund Finance Center. Sustainability remains a key focus of SHFW, with efforts to implement eco-friendly materials, minimize waste, and promote recycling practices. The event will also host discussions on sustainable business practices, bringing together designers, industry associations, and sustainability advocates. The official Mode Shanghai trade show will debut in the Hongqiao business district s Yi Fung Center, with additional showrooms like Showroom Shanghai, Tube, Not, Bridal Moda, and the Ontimeshow trade show.
