SI GROUP ANNOUNCES PLANS TO CLOSE MANUFACTURING SITE IN SINGAPORE
SI Group, a global developer and manufacturer of performance additives, process solutions, pharmaceuticals, and chemical intermediates, announced plans to cease alkylphenol manufacturing operations at its facility on Jurong Island in Singapore by the second half of 2025. The decision comes in response to declining market conditions and high manufacturing costs in the region. Despite this, SI Group will continue to supply alkylphenols from its global footprint, with supply points in Europe and the Americas. The Singapore facility, opened in 2006, has been a valuable asset for SI Group s growth and global presence. However, the company has observed substantial changes in the antioxidant value chain in the Asia Pacific region, leading to the necessary decision to close the plant. SI Group remains committed to being a value-added solutions provider to customers worldwide, including those in the Asia Pacific. With alkylphenol manufacturing facilities in Europe and the Americas, the company aims to maintain its market leadership and uphold customer and technical service support levels. The closure of the Singapore facility is expected to impact all employees, and SI Group will provide support and assistance during the transition. The company s recent partnership with Dingjide and the strategic shift in the Asia Pacific region demonstrate SI Group s commitment to serving its customers and supporting their growth. SI Group operates 19 manufacturing facilities across three continents, serving customers in 80 countries with approximately 1,800 employees worldwide. The company s inaugural ESG report in 2023 showcases its commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability. For more information, please visit www.siigroup.com.
