Clean Energy Transition Asia ( CETA ) Exhibition and Summit
The Clean Energy Transition Asia (CETA) Exhibition and Summit, scheduled for October 9-11, 2024, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), aims to unite leaders from the clean energy sectors to expedite Asia s shift towards a sustainable energy future. The event, co-located with the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2024 and MobilityX Asia, will serve as a collaborative platform for public and private stakeholders to discuss innovative solutions for sustainability and energy security. The Summit aligns with Malaysia s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The NETR outlines a strategy for achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, emphasizing the balance between economic growth, sustainability, and energy security. McKinsey & Company and Rystad Energy have joined CETA as Knowledge Partner and Strategic Partner, respectively, providing key research and insights. Vishal Agarwal, Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, highlighted the potential for new value pools in green businesses worth $3 to $5 trillion in Asia over the next decade. Mel Lanvers-Shah, CEO of The Co_Lab Pte Ltd, emphasized the importance of industry collaboration in achieving sustainability goals. Key themes at the Summit include Policy & Energy Leadership, RE Ramp Up, The Hydrogen Economy, Financing Zero, Carbon, Transition Bridge, and CASE Mobility Futures. The event will feature top-level Ministerial Keynotes, Global Leadership Keynote Addresses, Global Leadership Panels, and invitational Minister CEO Leadership Roundtables. Rystad Energy s Vijay Krishnan noted the potential for continued emissions rise but anticipated a decline afterward. He expressed concern over the shift in focus away from decarbonisation and ESG principles in key developed nations, which could impact ASEAN. CETA
