Seafarer Abandonment Is On The Rise
More than 1,000 seafarers have been cast adrift by shipowners over the last 20 years, according to new figures from the Maritime Safety and Environment Agency (R&E). The vessels owned by the Royal Navy are being abandoned in the UK.
